Robin Hilton says, "Boca Chica's Hallie Pritts writes songs that walk the
line between more traditional Americana artists like Gillian Welch (whom Pritts
cites as an influence), and slightly more contemporary folk and pop artists like
Hem." Boca Chica is climbing the charts this week: #2 on the Roots Music

Rattlers Which Side Are You On? The
Flatcar Rattlers are a raucous Austin act with all the fixins. They mix
up rootsy backwoods Appalachia with fast punk rock to make up a distinct new-timey
sound implanted with mountain songs and murder ballads. Joel Weickgenant of Austin
360 described the bands performances as
songster punk, uncorking
a moonshine-laced attack that sounded as if it was conceived in a room somewhere
in the North Carolina Appalachians, between a washtub bass and a stack of records
by Hank Williams and the Clash. Their high octane live shows have created
a nice buzz in a short time ranking them in the top ten of Best New Bands and
Best Bluegrass Bands in the Austin Chronicles 2008-2009 Music Poll. Their
new album is at EuroAmericana radio now. Trevor
Alguire Thirty Year Run Trevor Alguire hails from a small town
just south of Ottawa Ontario. These comparisons landed Alguire his first record
deal with Blue Rose Records alongside fellow songwriters such as Steve Earle and
Buddy Miller proving that Alguire was only at the start of such musical depth.
Within four months of releasing As of Yesterday (Blue Rose), Alguire went worldwide
with consistent radio play across Europe, Australia and North America. This album
is currently spinning at Americana radio. This album hit #2 on Roots Music Report's
Canadian Roots Music Airplay Chart on March 19, 2010, and #26 on Roots Music Report's
Roots Rock Top 50 chart on February 26, 2010, #87 on the AMericana Radio chart

album hit Top Adds on November 3, 2008 on the AMA Americana Radio Airplay Chart
as well as the AMA Americana Internet Radio Airplay Chart. Rebecca
Rippy Telling Stories On
Telling Stories, her second album, Rebecca opens her heart in the most intimate
ways, spinning tales built around those who mean the most to her. The emotional
connection to her songs are obvious, but just as importantly is how she uses personal
revelations to explore universal truths. Writing acoustic music that elevates
souls with uplifting rhythms or hushes a crowd with quiet power, Rebecca proves
just how entertaining and inspiring music can be in the hands of a talented singer-songwriter
who has lived every word she sings. This album hit #6 on the NC Roots Music Report
State Airplay Chart, and hit #34 on Roots Music Report's Roots Country Chart. The
Villains The eight tracks on the debut album by The Villains is
a look into the eyes and hearts of a band with real life stories to tell. From
the breezy optimism of Lets Forget About It Tonight to the reflective
musings of a band on the road in Going Deaf For A Living, The Villains
weave a seamless backdrop of rock, pop and country that speaks to the soul. The
sound is fun and reflective
.they think youll agree. The six members
(Magno, Dan Call, Sean McNally, Michael Wilkes, Jimmy James Schmitt, and Alan
Schaefer) all have a rich history of writing, recording ,and touring. Each of
them has recorded and performed with many mainstream and indie artists from Nashville
to New York, as well as touring the world together and individually. We brought
this album to EuroAmericana radio in April 2010. The album continues to receive
spins at stations around the world. Angie
Stevens Queen of this Mess This album debuted on the EuroAmericana
radio chart at #5 in June 2009. The album also hit #6 on the Roots Music Report
Folk chart on June 5, 2009, and debuted on the F.A.R. Chart at #23 for May 2009.
The album hit #108 on the AMA chart in July 2009. "Backed by a stellar cast
of musicians, Stevens engages audiences in a way that makes every performance
feel intimate, like she's playing her songs just for you. The amiable chanteuse
has shared the bill with a wide array of performers and had every audience riveted
by the end of each set... Stevens makes the icicles form on your spine the minute
she takes the stage." - Westword. Click

Dunn The Long Ride Home At Americana and Roots radio now. Indyweek.com
says: "On his second album, James Dunnthe Raleigh singer/songwriter
CMT described as 'one of America's top unsigned artists,' finds himself aiming
for heartland rock and mostly landing. His voice is a dust-covered croon, comfortable
and familiar like an old flannel shirt, and the arrangements back the songs with
an aggressive Americana frame, more John Mellencamp than Bruce Springsteen. But
where Mellencamp and Springsteen capitalized on the grit beneath the blue collar,
Dunn reaches toward optimism in earnest." This album hit #17 on the EuroAmericana
chart in November 2008, and hit #15 on the Roots Rock Chart (a subchart of the
Roots Music Report) on Thursday, October 9, 2008, and #114 on the AMA Americana
Radio chart on December 15, 2008. The
Halyards Songwriter Sessions We brought this album to EuroAmericana
radio in July 2010 and it hit #9 on the EuroAmericana radio chart. This album
also hit #17 on the June 2010 F.A.R. Chart 131. The Halyards joke their debut
CD "Fortune Smiles" has been 35 years in the making. Well, half joke.
Carl Funk and Larry Mason trace their friendship to grade school. For the last
decade they have written and performed around the Pacific Northwest as Funk Mason.
Approached by old friend and Grammy award-winning musician Eric Tingstad to "do
a little recording," no one expected a 12-track CD--let alone a new band.
But, sometimes, with luck, timing, and hard work, ingredients become larger than
the sum of the parts. This is The Halyards. Thirty-five years in the making. Not
a moment too soon. Heather
Knox El Dorado It's been four years since her last release,

on the EuroAmericana Radio chart in November 2008. This album also hit #95 on
the Roots Music Association (RMA) Top 100 (November 2008), and #31 on the Premier

Radio Asleep at the Wheel At Americana and Roots radio now. Often
described as "too loud for country, and as backwoods as a busted fence, Desert
Radio is the soundtrack to a bush party... kegs and all." Their track "February
Day" was the number one ranked Americana song in the history of garageband.com.
This led to the track being featured on the Budweiser website, which in turn led
to NASCAR using the track in a Speed Channel video tribute to Dale Earnhardt Sr.
broadcast throughout North America on the eve of the Daytona 500. This album hit
#18 on the Roots Music Report/Roots Country chart on Friday, October 3, 2008.
Asleep at the Wheel also hit #62 on the AMA Americana Radio Airplay Chart, and
#50 on the AMA Americana Internet Radio Chart, both on the week of December 1,
2008. Brendon
James Wright and the Wrongs Brendon James Wright and the Wrongs Ellen
Mallarney, staff writer for the Metro Pulse says "Brendon James Wright's
scratchy, sore-throat songs about coal miners, hard-luck prisoners and lovers
separated by many miles are twangy and heartfelt. Wright mixes his Southern roots
with his esteem for artists like Ryan Adams and Bob Dylan." This album hit
#16 on the Roots Music TN State chart, and #20 on the Roots Music Report - Roots
Rock chart. This album hit #2 on XM Satellite's X Country station (ch. 12) on
June 2008. This album also hit #20 on the Freeform American Roots (F.A.R.) chart.
It hit #110 on the R&R / AMA Americana Radio chart the week of May 21, 2008.
It hit #126 on the AMA Americana Internet Radio chart the week of May 12, 2008. Kara
Suzanne Parlor Walls This album hit #25 on the EuroAmericana
Chart (July 2010), and #123 on the Americana Radio Chart on July 19, 2010. "Parlor
Walls is certainly more Nashville than Big Apple. Yes, theres country in
this album. But dont expect paeans to pickup trucks or tear-in-the-beer
ballads about cheatin hearts. Elements of folk, rock and blues are all there,
too. But the brilliant thing about this release is how all of the genres congeal
together, melodiously, in the same pot. The band bridges the divide between blues,
country, folk and rock; but theyre also not afraid of burning those bridges
when the muse summons. The music fits under the umbrella of Americana/roots music
without getting wet, but in another sense, this is roots music without roots.
Its as close to the farm as it is to the freeway. And that might be whats
most refreshing about this release; its homeless and it belongs somewhere
at the same time." -Chris Zebo, Maroon Weekly Wes
Tucker Tradition "The
songs on the new album Tradition range from driving rockers like the title track
and Lead Me On, to the sweet ballads of Come Home To Me and Left Behind to the
intricate finger-picking of Good Night and Leota to the front porch stomps of
Spoken Word and Tides. There is not a single sleeper on the whole album. Each
song is crafted and shines and stands alone as an affirmative musical testament."
- CD Baby. Tradition hit #215 on the Americana chart on January 30, 2006.
Hooverville Follow
that Trail of Dust Back Home Hoovervilles new album, Follow That
Trail of Dust Back Home, spotlights the singing and writing talents of the bands
three lead vocalists, recalling other rootsy group efforts like The Band, The
Flatlanders, and Uncle Tupelo. Produced by James Mathus (Elvis Costello, Buddy
Guy), the new record rambles across the great map of American roots music, and
follows that dusty trail back home. This album hit #114 on the R&R / AMA Americana
Radio chart. Jill
Jack Songwriter Sessions We brought this album to EuroAmericana
radio in April 2010 and it hit #8 on the EuroAmericana radio chart. With an innovative
approach to recording, Jill Jack releases her 7th full length CD. Fourteen new
songs recorded for the first time, but Jill dared to let her fans in on the process,
and recorded live at the Hartland Music Hall instead of in the studio. Colin Linden
flew in from Nashville for the concerts to lend his recording and production expertise.
With no studio overdubs, it is intimate and bold at once. Plus she adds two bonus
studio tracks, along with a DVD of the concert sessions, so you can catch a glimpse
of the magic. The
Swaggerts Keepers of the Quaich Peaked
on the R&R Americana charts at #88 in 2003 and hit #1 on the Progressive Country
chart on January 21, 2004. "The Swaggerts take Keepers of the Quaich and
force feed you the entire history of the marriage of C&W, R&B, and R&R
that took place in the early and mid-50s far from the mainstream (referred
to as Rockabilly, it blossomed and eventually mutated into straight ahead Rock-n-Roll,
but its core survived, and still lives to this day in may cities and forms
all across America, especially in the south..." -Independisc.com The
Whipsaws Ten Day Bender More than six months on the Americana
radio charts! This album hit #41 on the Roots Music Report Roots Rock radio chart
on May 24, 2006. This album also hit #12 on the EuroAmericana chart August 2006.
"Every song is a grouping of parts not so much woven together as layered
on top of one another in a perfectly synchronized fashion that begs the listener
to hear each expressive instrument separately: the doleful fiddle on 'Hole In
My Heart,' the singing lap steel on 'Shotgun Wedding.' With some imagination,
really, the musical parts, articulate as they are, can almost seem like characters
in a novel themselves." - Lillie Dremeaux, Anchorage Daily News Doug

Mitchell and the Curs Nobody's Blues This album hit #1 on the
Roots Music Report New Mexico State Airplay Chart for most of Summer 2008. "'I
was born in Billy the Kid country and raised in Hank Williams country,' Mitchell
states in his current biography. Filled with road weary tales of whiskey-soaked
nights, deals gone bad, clocking time in a slaughterhouse and 'breathing fire
and drinking gasoline,' Mitchell's songs sweat bullets of genuine American tears
laced with grit and asphalt... 'Nobody's Blues' should be on everyone's playlist.

Huff Gravity After feeling he had outgrown his potential in
Vegas, he pulled up his stakes and settled in Nashville in 2003. He formed a friendship
with Allison Moorer who was taken with Marks writing, and soon became her
opening act on three US tours. After hearing his music night after night, Moorers
guitar player, Adam Landry, offered to produce a new cd for Huff. Following the
release of Skeleton Faith in 1998 and Clean in 2001, Huff has just released his
latest offering, Gravity. Producer Landry was able to assemble a band of some
of the best talent in Nashville. Gravity features Adam Landry (The Sways and Allison
Moorer) guitar, bass and keyboards; Bucky Baxter (Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams and Steve
Earle) guitar; Dan Baird (The Georgia Satellites) bass and guitar; Brad Pemberton
(Ryan Adams) drums; and Moorer background vocals. This album hit the R&R /
AMA Americana Radio chart. One

a modern project steeped in traditionalism, it is sort of at the point where John
Prine meets Jimmie Rodgers with 13 story songs written by lead vocalist Rick Rowland.
Rowland has a great voice and a real feel for traditional music as do the rest
of this Washington, DC based band." - Pete Smith, Country Music Round

McGuire Roses for the Moon Louisville, Kentucky is home to some
of the most inventive minds and inspired artists from the past two centuries.
The city of Louisville has produced such luminaries as Thomas Edison, comedian
Foster Brooks, gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, actor/pop icon
Johnny Depp, bluesman WC Handy, and bluegrass legend Bill Monroe. Mike
McGuire, another illustrious Louisvillian channels the spirit of each of his innovative
indigenous brethren with his own Kentucky hallmark called Roses for the Moon.
McGuire introduces us to his hometown through the leadoff track -- a simple history
and geography lesson called Western Kentucky Parkway. Its quintessential
McGuire. It captures his tongue-and-cheek sensibility and bourbon Kentucky wit
as he takes us on a drive around the Bluegrass State. The
Bean Pickers Union Potlatch Boston-based singer/songwriter/guitarist
Chuck Melchin gathered up a few of his favorite players from Boston and around
New England and over the course of a year, and in four different studios, recorded
ten original songs that recall the music of classic alt.country / Americana bands
like the Jayhawks, Steve Earle and Uncle Tupelo. Ranging from full band rockers
to stark acoustic ballads, these songs tell stories of loss, tragedy, human failure
and redemption. Jefferson

2005. It also hit #181 on the Americana radio chart on January 16, 2006. Combining
rock, country, punk, folk and bluegrass, Jefferson Pepper inhabits an eclectic,
rootsy territory all his own. Expanding on the tradition of singer-songwriters
like Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, John Prine and Steve Earle, he exposes
the fat, soft underbelly of conformity and the status quo and tears them wide
open with biting, razor-sharp lyrics and straightforward vocal delivery. Bucktown

Giving voice to this singular canon is an appropriately uncommon instrumentation-
at least uncommon outside of Western swing music. Founders Aaron "Brother"Grimm

steel/ traditional guitarist Alex Piazza, and classically trained violinist Bennett

Flynn Again Tonight Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Terry Flynn has
lived in Atlanta his entire life and the rich musical diversity of Georgia has
obviously had a strong impact on him. Georgia has such an incredible musical
heritage, Ray Charles, Blind Willie McTell, Little Richard, James Brown, the list
goes on. But, in our house, mother played Otis Redding records and on Saturdays
my grandmother had on the Gospel Jubilee with the Le Fevere family. But my biggest
influence was Joe South, who was a favorite of my fathers, and would come

Stark Not Crazy Tonight Born in Austin and raised on the Blackland
Prairie of Denton County Texas, Stark knows whereof he sings. Growing up, Stark
was raised on the drone of a hot, dry southern wind, Church of Christ shape note
singing, and the constant hum of AM country radio, with frequent visits to his
grandparent's spread on the Guadalupe river in the Texas Hill Country. After moving
to Austin to play trombone in the University of Texas marching band, Stark soon
found his way into the bars and dancehalls where the redneck/hippie/alternative
crossover was still in full swing. Inspired by the openly creative vibe and local
legends such as Doug Sahm, Townes Van Zandt, and the ubiquitous Willie Nelson,
R.G. soon layed down the trombone and started performing his own songs. Anthony

Collie Rose Covered Garden In
addition to penning the majority
of songs on his albums, Mark Collie's tunes have been recorded by many of country's
top hitmakers, including Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Randy Travis,
Collin Raye, Billy Ray Cyrus and Alabama. Playboy Magazine praised George Jones'
single, "Ain't Love A Lot Like That" written by Collie, stating it is
the most effective up-tempo honky-tonk Jones has done since the late Sixties.
This is the album Mark Collie fans have been waiting for since he came on the
scene. This is a songwriters album performed the way a songwriter writes,
with just guitar and voice. On Rose Covered Garden, Collie sings the songs that
he wrote which helped contribute to the fame of so many great artists
as
well as his own. Rose Covered Garden hit #81 on the R&R / AMA Americana Radio
chart the week of August 6, 2007. Dao
Strom Everything That Blooms Wrecks Me From the haunting Appalachian-tinged
acapella mythos of Travelers Ode, to the rhythmic, finger-plucked
electric guitar accompanied by cello and delicate piano of the albums title
track, these are songs that have their roots soulfully anchored in traditional
american folk music yet also reach uniquely beyond tradition. At EuroAmericana
radio now. Currently spinning on Radio Frequence Verte 92,8fm, "Old Time
& New Country"Show (France), Rootstime (Belgium), Peelgrass (Netherlands),

Lee Bronston Empty River Folks who have already had the great
pleasure of hearing Derek Lee Bronston perform, are well aware of the tremendous
talent the guitarist / singer / songwriter possesses. Adam Levy (Norah Jones,
Tracy Chapman) recently said, Derek Lee Bronston writes canny songs that
cut to the heart of the matter, and delivers his lyrics with nuanced grit.
Audiences will soon have that opportunity as Bronston readies for his debut on
Paved Earth Music. Various

Zoe Montana, RADIOIO Inka
Brand Name Goddess "Even through the stereo speakers, Inka
has a prescence that shakes the atmosphere. The video accompanying her debut NAME
BRAND GODDESS shows her as a beautifully bejeweled pagan priestess with a celestial
commanding voice. Think Kate Bush with a chorus of Enyas in the background. That
voice is heavenly. Throughout the cd, it dances, croons, entices, curses, laughs.
I just want to light an incense stick and dance to these songs. I want to grow
my hair down to my waist like hers and adorn myself with body glitter." -Jennifer
